Edward is a senior risk, audit, and information security governance executive with over 25 years of experience advising global financial services and life sciences organizations on technology risk, regulatory compliance, and control environment maturity. He has led enterprise-wide information protection governance functions, built regulatory examination and audit programs from the ground up, and served as the primary point of contact for federal and international banking regulators on cybersecurity, cloud, and IT controls matters. Edward combines hands-on audit rigor with second-line risk governance leadership and direct regulator-facing experience, and partners closely with executive leadership, boards, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex regulatory and technical risk into clear, actionable business guidance.
Professional Background
Prior to consulting with Tredence, Edward built the information protection governance program from the ground up as Managing Director at State Street Corporation. In this role, he established continuous control monitoring, executive dashboards, and audit-ready reporting, while chairing cross-functional governance councils across IT, Security, and Compliance. He also served as the lead executive for regulatory and third-party assurance, representing the bank in the multi-agency federal Interagency Cybersecurity Collaborative Review (ICCR). Previously, as Head of the Regulatory Team at TD Bank, he managed global information security compliance across international jurisdictions and multiple domestic regulators, including OSFI, OCC, FRB, FDIC, NFA, and NYDFS. His leadership during OCC and OSFI cloud security examinations produced over 200 supporting documents and 15 direct regulator meetings, and he regularly reported enterprise NIST Cybersecurity Framework maturity twice yearly to the Board Risk Committee. Earlier in his career, he drove global technology risk oversight and led internal audits spanning SDLC and ERP systems as Director of IT Audit at Teva Pharmaceuticals, following an eight-year tenure at KPMG, LLP where he managed a $3.5 million SAS 70 audit portfolio and served as a subject-matter expert for SOX and IT General Controls.
