His extensive background includes the software industry, enterprise IT, and emerging business (startup) environments. John is known for his strengths in business systems team building, strategic planning, and design thinking, and he leverages enterprise architecture methods to drive success.

Professional Background

John has held various leadership roles throughout his career, including positions at Documentum, Microsoft, Chevron, and Atlassian. At Documentum, he led Knowledge Management initiatives, while at Microsoft, he served as a Platform Strategy Advisor. His work at Chevron and Atlassian focused on Enterprise Architecture, where he developed and implemented EA methodologies and IT application portfolio management strategies. John’s expertise spans a broad range of areas, including application rationalization, SaaS management, and enterprise business systems management across finance, accounting, and human resources. He has a deep understanding of business architecture and process optimization, having led architecture strategy initiatives in Lead/Quote to Cash, Record to Report, Procure to Pay, and Hire to Retire processes.

Education

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Finance and a minor in Computer Science from California State University, Chico.

Additionally, John attended and completed the CTO Institute Executive Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Furthermore

John enjoys outdoor activities like skiing, gravel and road cycling, hunting, and hiking. John is also a Croatian American with a passion for all things Croatian and regularly spends time on the Dalmatian Coast with his wife.
