Kristi Pihl

Principal Advisor

Profile

Kristi is a principal-level strategy and technology executive with nearly two decades of experience helping organizations translate complex technology investments into measurable business outcomes. Her work spans AI and data platform strategy, enterprise transformation, product operating model design, and technology due diligence—with a consistent focus on closing the gap between ambitious strategy and disciplined execution.

Kristi is known for bringing equal parts analytical rigor and practical judgment to her engagements—combining deep technology fluency with the business acumen required to align people, process, and systems around outcomes that last. She has led some of the most demanding programs at the intersection of product innovation, organizational transformation, and AI adoption, partnering with executive teams across industries to build the capabilities required to compete in an increasingly intelligent enterprise landscape.

Professional Background

Kristi has spent her career at the intersection of strategy and execution—serving as Principal at two premier technology and management consulting firms, Cuesta Partners and Liberty Advisor Group, where she advised enterprise clients on AI and data platforms, digital transformation, M&A, and product strategy across financial services, logistics, and human capital management. She also served as Chief Product and Technology Officer and Board Member at Pipeline Equity, a SaaS human capital management platform named a TIME Best Invention of 2019 in the AI category. She began her career at Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, where she advanced from analyst to manager and developed an early conviction that the best strategies only matter if someone can actually make them real.

Education

B.S., Mechanical Engineering, Northwestern University. Certificate in User-Centered Product Design, Segal Design Institute, Northwestern University. National Science Foundation International Research Grantee, Nagoya Institute of Technology.

Furthermore

Kristi tends three bonsai trees with the same patience she brings to complex transformations—a 16-year-old jade, an 8-year-old tea tree, and soon, a 39-year-old elm she will inherit from her mother. She is convinced the elm will be the most opinionated client she has ever managed.
