Maria has more than 25 years of experience in strategic marketing and communications with a focus on financial services and in particular, the wealth management industry. She has expertise in developing B2B and B2C program initiatives that enhance business development, based on an understanding of how wealth managers operate, the investment and technological trends that are shaping the industry, and the need to focus on the customer experience as a primary differentiator.
Before becoming an independent consultant, Maria was General Manager and Executive Vice President of the Financial Services practice at Edelman Worldwide. She began her financial communications career on the corporate sell-side, as a Vice President at CS First Boston before directing all marketing communications at Furman Selz.

Maria has eclectic interests. A former violinist, she is actively involved in the New York performing arts community. Maria is equally passionate about sports, and as a New York Mets and New York Giants fan, she has been accused of having a masochistic streak.
