Profile

Nauman has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, working with global banks, property and casualty insurance, as well as life insurance and annuities. His primary focus is on enabling the use of cloud computing to further business imperatives, with hands-on experience gained from enabling a global cloud footprint for a systemically important financial institution, including an operating model transformation.

In addition, he is excited about the opportunities such transformations provide for ‘resetting’ security controls to achieve a more enhanced and sustainable posture through automation and contemporary practices. As a consultant, he has helped clients design and execute their most critical strategies and transform their organizations. Furthermore, he has had the privilege of serving as an interim CIO, CTO, and CISO. Finally, he has been a member of the Cloud Executive Steering Group (CESG), a public-private partnership, and has participated in the Financial and Banking Information Infrastructure Committee (FBIIC) and the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council (FSSCC).

Professional Background

Prior to this, Nauman was a Managing Director at State Street Bank, where he built global teams from the ground up to enable and operate their global AWS footprint. At PwC Strategy&, he served as a Director, focusing on strategy for optimizing organizations, divestiture planning, and technology strategy. His other experiences include product innovation and regulatory transformations.

Education

Nauman holds a Master’s in Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s with Honors from the University of Salford. He has also completed his PhD requirements in Engineering at the University of Alberta.

Furthermore

Nauman has been privileged to serve on the boards of various non-profits focused on providing diverse youth opportunities in media. He has also led pro bono engagements with several non-profits to develop their programs and governance structures.
