Thadi is a technology risk and governance executive with over 20 years of experience helping regulated institutions put structure around technology and AI transformation. He designs the governance frameworks, controls, and operating models that let organizations adopt AI at speed and still explain themselves to a board, an examiner, or a customer. Thadi is known for translating regulatory expectations into requirements engineering teams can actually build against. He has stood up enterprise AI governance from a blank page, run the assessment pipelines behind it, and represented risk positions to boards, examiners, and external auditors. He builds as well as advises, working hands-on with agentic and retrieval-based systems rather than only writing about them. His industry depth is financial services: mortgage finance, tier-1 banking, capital markets, and asset management. He has advised UBS, Morgan Stanley, Santander, and Charles Schwab on control frameworks and governance operating models, and built model risk frameworks under Basel II/III, CCAR, and BCBS 239.
Professional Background
Prior, Thadi was Director of Enterprise AI, Data and Technology Risk Governance at Freddie Mac, where he built the enterprise AI governance program end to end for a $3T+ portfolio, directed a 25-member team across 10+ business units, and served as the primary risk interface to FHFA and OCC examiners. Before that he spent 13 years at Capco, most recently as Managing Principal, where he built the firm’s technology, data and AI risk practice from $5M to $45M+ in revenue and grew the team from 5 to 50+ consultants. He contributes to the NIST Control Overlays for Securing AI Systems working group and is the founder of RiskAlmanac, an AI governance platform he designed and built himself.
Education
Thadi has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. A Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He is FRM (GARP), CISSP (ISC2) certified and AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
Furthermore
Thadi plays pickleball and is on a one-man crusade to get more of his neighbors onto the court. He also taught himself to code again using AI after two decades away from it and built his AI governance platform end-to-end himself.
